Drama Department
At key stage 3 Drama is a discreet subject taught for one hour each week. Students are encouraged to develop an appreciation of the aesthetic and an understanding of performance, group skills and the history of theatre. At key stage 4 students can opt to take Drama GCSE which focuses on the key areas of creating, responding and evaluating.
Students complete coursework which is 60% of the final mark and then produce a piece of theatre which they show to an outside examiner; this makes up the remaining 40%. Drama GCSE students have to be committed to after school and holiday rehearsal time.
