ICT Department
ICT is now a core subject at Winton Arts & Media College.
ICT is taught discretely at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. In Key Stage 3 students follow the national strategy. In Key Stage 4 students have the option of either completing Key Skills or GCSE.
As a school we are committed to safeguarding pupils when using the internet in school. The South West Grid for Learning apply the main filters to our internet access, but this is constantly checked and modified by the Network Managers within the school. We deliver lessons relating specifically to Internet Safety in Year 8 and discuss issues such as "grooming" and "Cyber Bullying". The college's Acceptable Computer and Internet Use Policy can be found by following the School Policies link above, or by clicking here.
