PSHE Department
Personal, Social and Health Education is delivered to students throughout Key Stages 3 and 4 at the college. Form group teachers lead this programme through a fortnightly 1 hour session. To complement this each student also receives 3 x 20 minute form time sessions a week based around key topics within PSHE. To further enhance students learning and understanding the college seek to involve many outside agencies in the delivery of assemblies and additional lessons that cover a wide variety of topics.
There is no formal examination to be undertaken in PSHE but rather students are encouraged to keep a progress file that can be used to apply for employment or further education during year 11.
CitizenshipThe teaching of citizenship within the college is done through strong cross-curricular links throughout all subject and learning areas. The citizenship national curriculum has been embedded into the whole school ethos and across all Key Stages.
The teaching of citizenship has been further enhanced by the regular delivery of relevant year group assemblies, outside theatre companies and expert speakers visiting the college.
